Camel Pox

Camel Pox is caused by viruses belonging to the Poxviridae family and the Orthopoxvirus genus. All camel breeds are susceptible to infection, and the disease is widespread across all regions of the Kingdom.

Symptoms:

Elevated body temperature.

Development of skin nodules that eventually form scabs.

Appearance of skin lesions in specific areas such as the face and ears, or, in severe cases, across the entire body.

To Prevent the Disease, Be Sure To:

Vaccinate camels against the disease, as no specific treatment is currently available. Provide supportive care such as antipyretics, anti-inflammatory drugs, and antibiotics to prevent secondary bacterial infections, strictly following veterinary prescriptions.
