Weqaa Center President & CEO Eng. Aymen Saad Al Ghamdi has taken an inspection tour to emphasize all the preparations that have been taken in forming the field teams of plant and animal health within the actions of pilgrimage seasons 1447h in Mecca and Madina. The teams are available on a large scale in the approved ports of Mecca; to implement the operations of inspection for the shipments of livestock and community interest markets in order to emphasize the availability of biosecurity requirements. Weqaa Center has prepared mobile caravans containing with all needed equipment. In addition, equipment, related to plant health, by which the squires and sites are detected to ensure safety and public health and achieve the highest standards of efficiency which provide safe conveniences. The tour has included visiting the sites of veterinary teams and community interest markets to assess the level of performance, workflow and procedures of inspecting the livestock shipments to ensure safety and health. In the end of the tour the President has launched the new Office in Mecca that comes as a strategic step to enhance the field availability to support staff permanently and facilitate their tasks. In a qualitative shift to enhance efficiency for this season, the President has visited all the mobile technical offices and caravans which have been developed to be appointed in several vital sites. These mobile units are considered as an added new operation equipped with the latest technological means, devices, and electronic link with the relevant entities in order to apply all the procedures of biosecurity. These means support speeding up the process of inspection and raising level of preparedness and rapid intervention; in order to ensure the accuracy of control in protecting animal health in record time. On the strategic front of preparation of pilgrimage season, the President has chaired the 19th meeting of supervisory committee of Hajj and Umra in Mecca to discuss the recent executive plans in Mecca and Madina. The meeting has focused on determining the proactive solutions for the field challenges related to health of animals that are appointed to be sacrificed. The meeting also has highlighted the follow up of surveillance indicators and field inspection related to plant and animal health in Mecca and its holy places and Medina; with emphasis on raising the level of logistic coordination between all the sectors to ensure achieving the highest standards of public safety. In fact, these great efforts come to confirm Weqaa Center's seeking toward devoting all the human capacities and recent technologies like: mobile offices and specialized teams to ensure the safety of environment and plant and animal health; contributing to provide healthy and safe life for pilgrims; in keeping with the national overall efforts to serve the Holy Mosque and pilgrims.
