Weqaa Center has held a meeting of Veterinary Poultry Association for the year of 2025 chaired by Chief Animal Health Sector Officer Dr. Sanad Al Harbi. This meeting aims to discuss the challenges facing the Poultry Sector and its solution method. During the meeting, several topics have been reviewed and discussed, as follows: • The global epidemic situation indicators. • The emergency plan and response to highly pathogenic avian influenza (HPAI). • The classification mechanism of poultry projects in the Kingdom. • Salmonella infection survey plan in the poultry projects for 2025. • The poultry projects commitment to disclose the use of antibiotics. • The expected challenges and proposed solutions provided by poultry producers. • Opening new opportunities for exporting hatching eggs and chicks. • The recommendations approval of both technical and scientific Committees of the Poultry Association. Dr. Al Harbi has emphasized that the meeting is complementing the previous meetings concerning the discussion of challenges, which face the poultry sector, and their solutions. He has indicated to the importance of Weqaa Center's role in preventing and controlling the animal diseases and their vectors. In fact, this role is contributing to enhancing the Gross Domestic Product of poultry and developing the poultry industry in the Kingdom.
